Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou isn’t a fan of marriage. He is, however, a fan of monogamy. During an interview with the men of the new romantic comedy “Baggage Claim,”  Hounsou explained his views on marriage.

Djimon said that sometimes the idea of marriage can ruin the relationship and the marriage ultimately becomes all about paperwork. Kimora Lee Simmons‘ ex-beau said, ““The idea of marrying somebody can actually ruin the union.” He went on to say, “Some people are happily together for decades and they get this fantasy idea to go and get married when it’s just about papers basically…eventually it just goes sour.”

Hounsou’s views on marriage aren’t anything new. He did have a commitment ceremony with Kimora Lee Simmons in 2009, but the union wasn’t legally binding. The real gem in thisd video is the fact Hounsou is saying all of this in front of three married men and none of them say anything. All of the married men–including Boris Kodjoe, Derek Luke, and Taye Diggs–all held blank faces while keeping very silent. Their wives must not play that madness.
