Suspect Named in Arrest for Missing Teen Alexis Murphy

  • CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — The FBI announces they have arrested Randy Taylor of Lovingston in the case involving missing Nelson County teen, Alexis Murphy.

    The FBI and local authorities announced the arrest in a news conference Monday morning.

    Authorities say Taylor is charged with abduction. They provided no new information about the missing teen, 17-year-old Alexis Murphy of Lovingston.

    Murphy was last seen Aug. 3 by her family. Her car was found in the parking lot of a multiplex in Charlottesville three days later.

    Authorities say the investigation is continuing.

    The FBI, Virginia State Police and local authorities have scheduled a news conference for 11:30 a.m. Monday in Lovingston to discuss the case.
