With a voice that sounds like a hybrid of Jill Scott and Amy Winehouse, Harleighblu is a welcomed surprise.

The 21-year-old soul singer is making waves in Europe and those waves have made their way stateside. With her latest single, “Play Me” off her debut album, Forget Me Not sure to stun the ears of the pickiest of listeners, Harleighblu is a breath of fresh and funky air. When did you know this is what you wanted to do:
It’s all I’ve ever known, all I’ve ever wanted to do. From around seven-years-old I was writing songs and performing. I grew up listening to my mums record collection and would try emulate the singers. All I knew was that ‘one day I want to grow up and be like them. Ambitious, I know, but there was never a Plan B! We’ve only got one life, so you stay focused and you go for it!
If you were the love child of two musicians–dead or alive–who would they be? I’m told I would be the lovechild of Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse.
