Nicole Evans of Cobb County, Ga., (pictured) was cuffed on Tuesday after a highway police chase. She is accused of a bizarre crime: attempting to carjack a cab, then stealing a man’s pickup truck with her two young children in tow, reports My Fox Atlanta.
According to police, the 27-year-old mom first reportedly tried to steal a parked taxi from a transit station. Cab driver Danny Kim told police investigators that Evans and her children entered his cab in a routine manner. But he says when he was placing the children’s stroller into his trunk, she jumped into the driver’s seat and attempted to drive off.
“She was like, ‘I got to go, I got to go. Let me go, let me go,’” Kim said. “I put my hand right there, I tried to get the keys.”
Kim said that Evans put up quite a struggle when he tried to take his car keys away from her. The cabbie said another fellow taxi driver witnessed the incident between him and Evans and jumped in to help him wrestle the keys out of her hands.
“My friend was blocking the door,” Kim said. “She jumped through the window and then took off.”
