Pastors across the country are having a serious problem leading their flocks with all of the temptations that stem from  the power they wield over their congregations.

Pastor Ira V. Hilliard of New Light Church in Houston, Texas, is using his powerful pulpit to ask some of his congregation via e-mail for donations to fix his helicopter.

The jet belongs to him and his wife, according to Fox 26 Houston. He’s had the church’s emblem placed on the wing of the jet, but federal records reveal different.

The popular preacher e-mailed certain members of his congregation for $52 donations and promised they’d be blessed if they helped out.

The Raw Story shared the e-mail that read:

“Do you need better transportation?” he asked in the e-mail. “Do you have a dream vehicle or luxury automobile you long to purchase?”

“I believe with all my heart this message is for you and your doing something today is the key to releasing this favor on your transportation situation!” the letter states. “Send me the transportation need or your dream you have by completing the online petition when you sow a $52.00 transportation favor seed believing in 52 days or 52 weeks you will experience a breakthrough favor!”

What do you think? Is it ok for the pastor to ask his congregation for help to fix his helicopter?
