Snoop Lion and Miley Cyrus? This may sound like an unlikely combination but the musical powerhouses have teamed up for a new song, “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks.”

Lifted from his lasted album Reincarnated”, the rapper, formally known as Snoop Dogg, and Disney star sing about remembering loved ones who have passed away in the reggae-inspired track.

The newly released video, directed by P.R. Brown, shows clips of community pain and violence with flashed os Snoop and Cyrus projected on window panes.

As we reported earlier, Snoop transformed his image from gangster rapper to Rastafarian for his new project, in hopes to use his “voice for the right reasons.”

“I was always bothered by all the school shootings and unnecessary violence by guns,” he said in an interview with The Grio. “I just always wanted to say something about it, but I never could really figure it out in rap. Like how? How does a gangster tell you not to pack your heat? So, it would never work in rap world, but as far as with this reggae thing, it’s just so perfect and so appropriate. More and more was happening while we was doing the project…We might as well address it right now because it’s actually happening at an all time high, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop until somebody says something.”
