Black cinema will never be the same following the release of “Lap Dance”–a “Player’s Club” like film about a woman stripping to take care of her dying father. “An aspiring actress makes a pact with her fiance to take a job as an exotic dancer to care for her cancer stricken father. Once the pact the couple made is broken, there lives are changed forever,” Carlton Jordon reports. To make matters worse, they’ve dragged “A Thin Line Between Love & Hate” actress Lynn Whitfield in as the resident madame.
In the trailer, (Warning: this is 1min42secs you will never get back!) Lynn’s character scolds a mature-looking dancer who she believes is cheating her out of money. Lisa Raye, who apparently hasn’t hung up her g-string and Carmen Electra, who looks two years away from 65, are watching as Lynn’s character and the “mature-looking” dancer argue over $1,000.
