Jacque Reid goes “Inside Her Story” with Dr. Argie Allen about circumstantial childlessness and the effects it has on women who are dealing with it. Circumstantial childlessness is when women are unable to have children due to health reasons, financial insecurity, lack of a partner or other reasons that prohibit them from having children.

    1. Circumstantial childlessness is a concept that many people don’t think about. When someone hears that you are not a parent, they immediately start making judgments on the reason why. Perhaps if someone would ask if you are a mother before wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day, it would ease some of the grief or other forms of loss being experienced.

    2. This could be very emotional. I had a brother-in-law and sister-in-law who were unable to conceive. They asked me and my girlfriend for permission to raise one of my sons and we granted since they had no criminal issues and were stable in all ways. They raised our son well and he brought much joy to their lives and we always had good times, mothers days included.
