The mystery of Mariah Carey using all those hashtags (#) in her comments on “American Idol” recently has been solved.
Well, we can reasonably assume that’s the case because yesterday she released her new mid tempo single with Miguel called “#Beautiful.”
USA Today describes the song as a Stax/Motown throwback kinda thing and we agree. In fact it begins with a simple, twangy guitar lick that sounds like something Steve Cropper might have dreamed up for Carla Thomas back in the day, and Miguel is the main voice until the minute-thirty mark. After that, though, Carey sounds like her own personal girl group.
The song is the first single off Carey’s highly anticipated 14th studio album. The video, directed by Joseph Kahn, will premiere on “American Idol” this Wednesday, May 8. Carey is also scheduled to appear on the “Good Morning America” summer concert series on May 24 as well.
