GSN announced that they have another Christian-based show in the works. The new program will be called ‘It Takes a Church’.

The new show slated to join the GSN titled ‘It Takes a Church’ will be a dating show with a twist. It’s not like the Dating Game of decades ago where a woman or man blindly chooses someone from behind the wall based on a few questions. It Takes a Church involves church members who compete to find a suitable mate for a single member of their congregation.

More specifics are not available, and GSN programming chief Amy Introcase-Davis said that no air date has been set for the new show. The network hopes to build on the success of  Kirk Franklin’s The American Bible Challenge with It Takes a Church.

While the GSN is not planning to transform into a faith-based network, their executives told reporters that the 2013-2014 television is being reshaped by The American Bible Challenge‘s popularity. The popular game show was introduced during the 2012-13 season and opened to 2.3 million viewers for the first airing and is now back for a second season. The show features 18 three-person teams in a season, with three teams each on the first six episodes. Winners of each advance to a final round. Teams play for the charity of their choice, and those who lose in the first round still get $2,500 for the charity they have selected.
