Chanting “we fired up, we can’t take it no more”, hundreds of fast-food and retail workers hit the streets of Chicago Wednesday afternoon asking for higher wages.

According to the Chicago Tribune, employees of Subway, Sears, Macys, Victoria’s Secret, and other popular stores are protesting their low wages.

Currently, many of the employees are making the minimum wage of $8.25 and they say it is not enough to provide for their families.

The protesters campaign is the “Fight for %15 Campaign”, they are asking for $15 an hour for employees.

The campaign is being supported by local community organizations.

Illinois minimum wage has been $8.25 since 2009.
