Sporting a Superman shirt, “Pain & Gain” star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tweeted a photo of himself in his hospital bed after having emergency surgery Monday to fix torn abductor and abdomen muscles suffered during his WWE Champion title fight against winner John Cena.

“Surgery a success! Dr. repaired 3 hernial tears (fun pain). Superman is on the mend,” Johnson wrote.

The April 7th match was watched by 80,000 people at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The operation caused Johnson, 40, to miss the “Pain & Gain” premiere in Los Angeles where director Michael Bay issued his well-wishes from the red carpet.

“Dwayne’s hurt tonight. He was pushing it too hard. [He] needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300-pound men,” Bay joked to E! News.

Johnson had announced the trip to the hospital to his fans on Sunday with typical “Rock” aplomb. “Saw my Dr. who had to push my intestines back through the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic. #Bringiton,” he wrote.
