90s R&B fans were super excited to find out Jermaine Dupri was putting together a one night only concert celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of So So Def Records. Dupri got most of his former groups to reunite for the special event, except for one–Xscape. Despite three of the original members, including LaTocha ScottTiny Harris, and Tamika ScottKandi Burruss will not be participating.

Bow Wow recently went in on his former label mate in a post on Facebook claiming Burruss was foul for not wanting to be apart of the So So Def show seeing as though Dupri launched her career. Now Kandi’s former group member, LaTocha Scott, has echoed Bow Wow’s sentiments in an interview with radio DJ Egypt. Scott talked to Egypt about Kandi not wanting to reunite with the group. Scott said:

“I think we owe it to the fans, to the people. They put us all here. You know we’re successful and people were calling us because of what the fans allowed us to do and that’s the scene. You know the universe opened up for us in ’93. We were able to sign to So So Def very early on. We worked hard and to be here now, it’s like 20 years later, who can even say that?”

We recently interviewed Jermaine Dupri about the So So Def 20th Anniversary show. While he didn’t say anything about Kandi at all, we reached out to her publicist to see why she wouldn’t be there. According to her publicist, Burruss already had booked herself to appear somewhere else on the day (February 23rd) of the show months before JD or anyone else came to her about the So So def show. Since that contract was legally binding, Kandi had to turn down appearing at the concert.
