After branching out in a dramatic role as the troubled, abusive comedian in “Sparkle”, Mike Epps heads out this spring with much lighter material to share with his fans around the country. The Indianapolis, Indiana born performer moved around to further his comedy career, making stops in Atlanta and New York, a move that worked in his favor when he made it to “Def Comedy Jam.” From that start, Epps, 42, worked with Ice Cube in “Next Friday,” Jamie Foxx in “Bait” and Eddie Murphy in “Dr. Dolittle 2.” From then on, Epps scored as a standup comedian and then with his own standup specials.  In the 2013 Pan-African Film Festival taking place next week in Los Angeles, Epps appears in the psychological thriller “Vipaka” with Forest Whitaker and Anthony Mackie.  This spring, you can catch him in person.
