Patricia Spottedcrow, the mother who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for selling a $31 bag of marijuana has now been released.
Spottedcrow said about her arrest, “My original sentence was 12 years behind a blunt with no priors. That was Heartbreaking.”
Spottedcrow Will not be off of probation until she is 82-years-old. Her mother, Delita Starr, was facing the same charge but did not go to jail.
Starr received a 30-year suspended sentence instead, in order for her to take care of Spottedcrow’s four children.
Her children are 11, 6, 5 and 3 years old now. The youngest was only 1 when Spottedcrow began her prison sentence two years ago.
