My mother is a very sweet and loving woman. All my life, I watched her be the best mother she could be to my 5 siblings and me– 4 boys and 2 daughters.

She has always been there for anyone who needed her in any way she could without ever complaining or looking for anything in return.

My father passed away in 2001 and she’s been on her own ever since. Three years ago, she went to the hospital because she thought she had pneumonia…but it turned out to be lung cancer.

After successfully completing her chemo and radiation treatments the cancer went into remission. My mother was happy to be able to go back to work on Capitol Hill where she has worked for over 20 years.

She used to be a big bowler before the cancer hit but these days she likes to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys, go to church and hang out with her three chihuahuas.

Next month, my mom will be turning 72 on December 21st and I am happy to report that she is still cancer free and very lively. But what do you get someone who has everything she needs?

The front porch to her house needs some repairs and some railing work. If you could grant this one gift for her, I know she would appreciate it.
