CLOSE

During their entire reign as the First Family, we’ve been engulfed in Michelle Obama‘s closet and when she wears what to where. Election night was no different. As the clock creeped upon 1am on Thursday morning, we all patiently waited to see what new ensemble our uber fabulous First Lady would debut.

Finally, the First Lady gracefully took the stage in a purple Michael Kors silk chine pin-tucked dress that she’d been seen in three times before–gasp! She topped her look off with the same black shrug and a vintage pink brooch from House of Lavande. To most celebrities, repeating closet choices is just a complete don’t. But Michelle Obama proves to us time and time again why we love her.

I’d like to think that perhaps she wanted us to focus more on her husband’s victory words than her fashion choice. But just maybe her closet isn’t as important to her as we think?

‘She said that she was so busy with the campaign and their kids that she had no time to think about an outfit and decided at the last minute,’ a source told People.

Repeat or not, I’m still swooning for the First Lady’s closet. Sure I was expecting a little bit more–maybe a custom piece from Alexander Wang, Tracy Reese, or Jason Wu. But Michelle reminded us that on election night, it was all about our President, her husband, Barack Obama.

What do you think of the first lady’s election night choice?
