FLOTUS STYLE: Michelle’s Victory Dress

  • During their entire reign as the First Family, we’ve been engulfed in Michelle Obama‘s closet and when she wears what to where. Election night was no different. As the clock creeped upon 1am on Thursday morning, we all patiently waited to see what new ensemble our uber fabulous First Lady would debut.

Finally, the First Lady gracefully took the stage in a purple Michael Kors silk chine pin-tucked dress that she’d been seen in three times before–gasp! She topped her look off with the same black shrug and a vintage pink brooch from House of Lavande. To most celebrities, repeating closet choices is just a complete don’t. But Michelle Obama proves to us time and time again why we love her.

I’d like to think that perhaps she wanted us to focus more on her husband’s victory words than her fashion choice. But just maybe her closet isn’t as important to her as we think?

‘She said that she was so busy with the campaign and their kids that she had no time to think about an outfit and decided at the last minute,’ a source told People.

Repeat or not, I’m still swooning for the First Lady’s closet. Sure I was expecting a little bit more–maybe a custom piece from Alexander Wang, Tracy Reese, or Jason Wu. But Michelle reminded us that on election night, it was all about our President, her husband, Barack Obama.

What do you think of the first lady’s election night choice?

    1. Her choice of dress is just but one thing that makes her stand out and rightfully deserve the title ‘FIRST LADY”….. she is what we need much more of in our communities, our churches and society in general– one that shows with everything she does that it is more important what ‘drives’ her (what she stands for and represents) than what she drives!!!!!!!! or in this case what she wears……more women like her would produce more men like Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2. No time for celebration the democratic party needs to start letting the people know when the next mid-terms are coming so everyone will know when to vote and we all have to come out for those to. So we can clear out that House of Representatives.

    3. It does not matter what First Lady Michelle wears. As long as she represented and she knows to keep her eye on the prize. It just goes to show what people are concern with and that they are shallow.

    4. Ditto, I love the fact that she, once again, has set the Bar that there is Nothing wrong with wearing a dress more than once. My mother called it “getting the Most out of your closet”. Thanks Mom and Mrs. First Lady. 4-More!!!!

    5. I truly love that our First Lady is wearing a outfit more then once. That’s what we all should be doing. It makes no sense to not do what she is doing. I love my 1st Lady and President and I pray for my President’s family! God bless america.
