Rapper Kurupt has released a statement following the shocking death of his former fiancee Natina Reed, calling her passing a “tremendous loss.”

The singer, who rose to fame in the 1990s with R&B group Blaque, died Friday night after she was hit by a car in Georgia.

Her former Blaque bandmates Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-DeVoe have paid tribute to their former bandmate, and now Kurupt – who was engaged to Reed in the early 2000s and has a 10-year-old son, Tren Brown, with the singer – has added his own memories of the star.

“Myself and Tren, Natina’s son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time,” Kurrupt said in a statement to MTV. “This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did.”
