Dear Tom,
My mother-In-Law – We call her Mrs. Mae – has 3 boys, 4 girls, 20 grandkids, 19 great-grandchildren and one adopted daughter.
Mrs. Mae raised all of seven of her children as a single mom, working diligently to give them a good life. She is very young at heart and is really good on the computer as well as all of the gaming systems that the children like to play – you name it: PS3…wii…Xbox…Atari.
She volunteers at her church in the kitchen. She just loves to cook and never grows tired of it. She gets great joy seeing others enjoy her food.
Mrs. Mae works as a Dietary Assistant with the Head Start Program where she prepares food for over 140 children and adults every day.
But next Thursday, on November 1st, she will be retiring from her job where she has been employed for 16 years. Before that, she worked for a hospital in Georgia for I don’t know how many years.
She will most likely continue to do volunteer work after she retires. She won’t have to wear work clothes, but i think she could use some new clothes in her closet. She would be so surprised and grateful!
