LAS VEGAS (AP) — A defense lawyer says Flavor Flav intends to fight criminal domestic battery and assault charges and seek reconciliation with his longtime fiancee following an argument that led to his arrest last week.

Attorney Tony Abbatangelo appeared Monday before a Las Vegas judge on behalf of the 53-year-old former rapper and reality TV star, whose name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr.

The judge scheduled an evidence hearing Nov. 20.

Drayton is accused of pushing his fiancee to the floor and wielding two knives as he chased and threatened her 17-year-old son during an argument early last Wednesday at their home in Las Vegas.

Drayton could face up to six years in prison if convicted of felony assault and six months in jail on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
