Q Parker has the makings of a modern-day renaissance man.

As a singer, songwriter, actor, and founding member of the Grammy Award winning quartet 112, Q Parker has over 20 years of experience in the music business. He’s written songs for some of the hottest artists in soul music like Kelly Price, Tyrese, and Keyshia Cole. But, Q Parker has another passion—fitness.

Two years ago, Parker made a commitment to live a healthier lifestyle and is passionate about encouraging others to do the same. This year Parker released a fitness calendar including photos, nutritional tips, and exercises that can help jump start the healthy-living process. And if you're in the Philadelphia area this weekend, you can catch Parker at this year's Take A Loved One To The Doctor Day expo.

“I did the calendar because as a nation, we got to get more health conscious. This is really important to me. When you think about the rise in obesity among black children, we’ve got to instill the importance of eating right and exercising in them—especially because they’re our future.”

He plans to release the 2013 calendar and is also currently working to become a certified fitness trainer.

However, Parker has not abandoned his first love.

His debut solo album “The MANual” showcases his sultry voice on tracks like “60 Seconds, “Two of Us,” featuring Faith Evans and the album’s first single “Show You How.”

“The MANual” will be in stores late October.
