The Hollywood Reporter has crunched the numbers and revealed the talk shows that are earning the most African American viewers on daytime TV. In a nutshell “Wendy Williams” and newcomer “Trisha” lead the pack, but “Maury” and “Jerry Springer” are right up there in the top five.

THR said that blacks make up 13 percent of the U.S. population but 18 percent of daytime viewers.  While not a necessary demo for success (consider the tiny black audiences for “Ellen” and “Katie”), “Maury” and “Jerry Springer” lure about 50 percent of African Americans.

Steve Harvey’s new talk show is also strong among African American viewers, closely trailing the “Steve Wilkos Show” and “Jeremy Kyle” in the top 10.

Meanwhile, Queen Latifah is about to reenter the daytime landscape next fall.
