My, my, my. Philadelphia, get ready.  Singer Johnny Gill, Tamela and David Mann, U.S. Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin, Dr. Ian Smith, Dr. Robin Smith, fitness expert AJ Johnson, and the entire Tom Joyner Morning Show team will be on hand in Philadelphia for the annual “Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day” Health Festival on October 19 and 20th. The day starts on Friday with a live broadcast of the Tom Joyner Morning Show that includes special guests and programming with all the information you need for you and your family to improve your health.

The day continues at the Liacouris Center on the campus of Temple University with a full-fledged health and fitness expo that includes cooking demos, seminars, health screenings (including rapid HIV testing, BMI index, diabetes and blood pressure) makeovers, live performances and more. An Old School Basement Party with local station WRNB-FM and Old School After Party with performances by Chubb Rock, Monie Love, Dana Dane, Special Ed and Kwame is to follow. On Saturday, the Expo continues with a Town Hall Meeting Forum on Health in the black community. To conclude the festivities, there’s also a comedy concert “Laughter is the Best Medicine” with Dominique, Rodney Perry and Damon Williams hosted by J. Anthony Brown.

The “Take a Loved One to the Doctor” Expo goes from 9:30a.m. to 7:00p/m. on Friday, October 19 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th at the Liacouris Center. Admission is free.

Gill will be a featured performer at “Take Your Loved One to the Doctor” day. His latest CD “Still Winning” is out and features the single “Just the Way You Are.” Gill is currently on tour with New Edition who are down South this weekend in Greenville, South Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
