Fox News will air a correction for a misleading graphic that ran on Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends.”
Liberal watchdog group Media Matters discovered the errors in the graphic displaying the unemployment rates during President Barack Obama’s term.
The graphic tried to compare the official unemployment figure in 2009 to the “real” 2012 unemployment figure. However, the 2012 figure takes into account information that is not included in the official number such as the amount of people who stopped looking for work, thereby making it higher. Reports show that the official unemployment rate is .3 percentage points higher than in 2009, while “real” unemployment is .7 percent points lower.
The correction will air during tomorrow’s “Fox & Friends” broadcast.
