  • A state senator in New York is lashing out at Lil Wayne after the rapper said in an interview that he doesn’t like New York.

State Senator Malcolm A. Smith, a Democrat, went so far as to call a news conference in Father Duffy Square on Wednesday to denounce the rapper over his remarks, telling the crowd that he was “angry,” “taken aback” and “shocked” by his words.

    Watch Lil Wayne's comment below.

“I take strong exception to the words ‘I don’t like New York,’” he said before demanding an apology from the rapper. “If you don’t like New York, you don’t have to come to New York. You don’t have to sell your products here. And perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”

Lil Wayne made the comment to MTV News on Monday evening, saying “Flat out: I don’t like New York,” while attending the launch of his new sneaker line in Las Vegas. His negative feelings may stem from the fact he was arrested after a show in Manhattan in 2007, subsequently pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and spent eight months in Rikers Island prison.

    1. He has a right to like or dislike….The Senator needs to be speaking out on Infrastructure or jobs…..Not Lil Wayne….My problem with Politicians these days is the are so focused on “Dumb Shit” and not helping the citizens or the States they occupy……
