  • Lauryn Hill's mugshot has been released in what could go down as one of the more intense celebrity mugshots ever.

Hill is free on $150,000 bond, but faces up to 3 years in prison and could be hit with $75,000 in fines when she is sentenced on November 27.

Hill responded to the charges in a post on her Tumblr page, saying she hadn’t paid taxes since she withdrew from society in an effort to guarantee the safety of herself and her family.

The Grammy award winning singer went on to describe how she rejected pop culture’s “climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism.

Over-commercialization and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual.

I did not deliberately abandon my fans, nor did I deliberately abandon any responsibilities, but I did however put my safety, health and freedom and the freedom, safety and health of my family first over all other material concerns!

I also embraced my right to resist a system intentionally opposing my right to whole and integral survival."

    1. you can withdraw from society that is your choice, but governent don’t give a rats a…. about that. They want their money. Really, she should have paid the taxes and kept it moving.

I checked this site out cause I got sick of all the white nuts on yahoo talking about us like dogs and I posted this on a post it got 237 hate it and 33 love it. I thought a white person got on and just punched away. But now from what your saying I don’t know.
      The post:
These kids just need jobs. Maybe about 20 years are so ago I seen Al Sharpton at a gathering outside of The At&t building in Manhattan, New York they was there because AT&T had put out a commercial to reach out and touch Africa with a monky on the other end of the phone. I asked Mr. Sharpton Why we don’t have a Black National Treasury he said we are working on it. Call me when it gets set I got $4.00 out of my check ready lets stop playing games with these people please. 42 million The number of Black people identified in America in a 2010 Census. That makes up 13.6 percent of the total U.S. population. $ 4.00 out of my check a week x 4 weeks = $ 16.00 x 12= $ 192.00 now $ 192.00 x half all African Americans 20 million =’s $ 3,840,000,000.00 is that right and that’s only half the Blacks for one year. We can fix our own schools, and we can buy land and start to build things. Without having to ask the Tea Party House of Representative. Oh and lets not start out with who we gonna trust, who have we been trusting. We can trust our dam self’s. Its time, and lets do something about the guns, oh no we need them to shoot deer(Yee Haw) and these are the peolpe we’ve been trusting. Black National Treasury for (our) kids and grandkids

    3. Lauren Hill is awesome as well as brave. She’s an intelligent strong black woman & I admire her for taking a stance. I wish we had more like her beause we’re seeing attacks today that rival what we saw during the Jim Crow era.

      Eric R. McCarroll
Large Strong Intelligent Black Man taking hits for taking a stand also!
