A patron visiting Cincinnati, Ohio for a weekend of music and fun at the Macy's Music Festival was in for unexpected surprise at a local motel.

According to reports, African- American patrons of a Sharonville Motel 6 were completely taken aback when they flipped on their TV  to find the phrase "Hello N**gers" written across the screen.

The message was reportedly embedded in the TV graphics.

Derrick Forward, the president of a nearby NAACP chapter, said the individual who discovered the message is a member of his chapter and quickly contacted him about the incident.

A representative for the Motel 6's parent company, Accor, released a statement saying it was "appalled" by what occurred and that the company was doing a full investigation on the matter.

Sharonville police have also begun an investigation, citing it as a serious issue.

The president of the Cincinnati NAACP chapter released a statement saying “The Motel 6 owner owes the entire Cincinnati region an apology and termination of all employees involved in this act."

Members of the Dayton chapter and the larger Cincinnati chapter will work together in resolving this matter.
