An Albuquerque woman tried to sell her soul on eBay.

Lori N., a former freelance writer, said she was down on her luck and decided to sell her soul via the Internet. The bidding started at $2,000.

In 2007, Lori was a passenger in a car hit by a drunk driver. She spent three weeks in a coma and woke up suffering from a stroke and a collapsed lung. She also suffered several broken bones including a broken hip, pelvis, sternum, collarbone, ribs and a lost a breast.

Lori admitted that placing the bid on eBay was a cry for help.

"I guess you could say that. I'm at the point now, I'm tired. I don't feel good. I'm near the end of my rope. I really am,” Lori told local reporters.

She currently earns a living by making and selling jewelry part-time.

Lori said that she understands her listing can be found offensive by many religious groups but she is hoping to make contact with someone else’s soul.

"What I'm gonna deliver is the opportunity for someone to save my soul," Lori told local reporters. "They can save it through prayer, they can save it through conversion. They're also gonna get a certificate detailing the white and black marks on my soul."

EBay has a strict policy against selling human body parts on their website. Although the listing is no longer posted, Lori said she did receive some encouraging words.
