    2. The Andy Griffith Show distracted from the for real chaos going on in our America from 1960 thru 1968.All was well in happyville.Vietnam was blazing, and
There were protests everywhere.A president was killed. Some well known civil rigths leaders were taken out too.Andy Griffith Show was propaganda for the masses.just like,Leave it to Beaver, and his family.Folks very few of us were on
Television and when black folks started showing up in commercials..I was shocked…

    3. I’m going to miss Andy and his beautiful silver hair. I’m really enjoyed watching him on Matlock. He had a way of making a ‘Ritz’ cracker (commercial) and a hot dog look so gooood!

    4. The Andy Griffith show had his name but he himself had no control over matters like casting. The time period is another thing to factor 1960-1968. Managers of television stations in the South could substitute other programming if what the three networks(ABC, CBS, NBC) offered shows that offended their sensitivities. I watched both shows.

    5. Rest In Peace Sir. I liked the fact that on ‘Matlock’, he was able to work with Black actors, actresses and Black musicans-something that he couldn’t do
on the Andy Grffith show. I liked him in ‘Rustlers’ Rhapsody ‘ as well.
