Yes, even in prison, champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is making headlines as a premiere athlete.

This time, he made the list of the world’s highest paid athletes over the past year.

Although he only fought twice in the last 12-month period, his combined payday was $85 million. That brought him to the No. 1 spot among 100, kicking out Tiger Woods who’s been dominating since 2001.

This time around the pro golfer made it at No. 3 with $59.4 million.

Mayweather simply does really good business. He maximized earnings by becoming his own fight promoter, collecting ticket revenue, pay-per-view and sponsorships and covers the cost including the purse for his own opponent.
