Angela Simmons wants to be known for more than her famous last name. Rev. Run’s daughter and Russell’s niece has already had her own reality show spinoff with sister Vanessa and a sneaker line. Now she’s the spokesmodel for hair extensions. The industry’s human hair extension leader Indique has done its first celebrity collaboration with Simmons, now the model/spokesperson for its Angela Simmons by Indique hair line. The first texture is called “Bikini,” named for its ability to look good in the summer.
"Why “Bikini” and why Indiqué?" Simmons, 24, says. "To me, hair is a statement and an extension of your wardrobe and I've always been drawn to fashion and being able to change up my look. This partnership seemed natural, much like the naming of Bikini. A bikini is the staple piece during the hot summer months or while on vacation, and the name perfectly describes the beachy texture of my first hair line."
According to the company, what makes Indique so different is the alternating hair textures along the weft (the part of the hair extension that attaches to your own hair) created by a steaming process, that allows for more volume without having to use any heating tools. But it comes at a cost – $210-$305 per 4 oz. tube of hair.
