Hi. My name is Sybil. I work, rarely take a sick day, pay my mortgage and other bills on time, tithe, volunteer, vote in most elections, check in with my relatives from time to time, floss daily, remember most birthdays – but apparently, what I don’t do is blog enough.

Here’s the thing: I am fortunate enough to work on a nationally syndicated radio show for four hours a day, five days a week. If I can’t give my thoughts and opinions during that time, I’m not doing my job. But some folks have been “conversating” about Why Sybil Doesn’t Blog More Often.

Suggestions have been made how to make this task easier for me. The latest was most generous: Let’s have Sybil talk with another friend on the regular after the radio show. We could make notes during the convo and print it in blog form. As generous as that is, after four or five hours in a studio, as my co-workers and friends will tell you, more often than not, I’m all talked out.

Since many of us make resolutions on January 1st, only to fall off the wagon by January 3rd or 4th, I’ve waded deep into the month and am now ready to “make that change.” I hereby resolve to be a better blogger.

But what I want and need is some input from you, readers of the blogs. What are you hearing and talking about that you want to discuss further? Let me know, and perhaps we can do what was suggested: Have conversations, record them and bring it to the blogosphere. Maybe I’ll be able to come to you for a BlogChat.

  1. Why do so many people make negative comments about our natural hair sisters and especially our African American Olympic Gold Medalist sisters? Perhaps if some of the trash talkers would SPONSER our sisters . . . DONATE their time and services to these outstanding young ladies and travel with them, then there would be nothing to talk about. They do not have time to worry about something as menial as hair. They are perfecting their gift. Put up or shut up.

USA Olympic Gymnasts represent cross cultures of America. That should be the focus and not someone’s hairstyle. Non-talented American girls are so petty and superficial!

  2. How can I send you a copy of my book? I created the cover, spine along with font and layout for all my books.

Pharell williams was interviewed on the red carpet, the hostess took his hat and put it on her head and when she gave it back to him she asked him did he have cooties???

    He didn’t complain

What happens to whites that graduate from HBCU’s? How do their careers end up? Also, what is it that influences a white family to send their child to an HBCU institution? Is it location, finances or to make them more culturally experienced? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Super Bowl 48. Black Quarterback. dominates yet not given MVP. Totally deserves it. Last black quarterback also short changed. Doug Williams versus John Elway – Denver. Black America needs to stand up for their unsung heroes.
