It’s been a while since “In Living Color” aired on Fox starting in 1990, but the show has had an impact on entertainment far beyond its short run.

The groundbreaking, Emmy-winning, sketch comedy show aired until 1994. Created by Keenan Ivory Wayans, “In Living Color” is the vehicle responsible for giving us the Wayans family – en masse. Even if you’re too young to remember the show, the success of its cast members has been pretty impressive. The entire cast will be honored on TV Land during its 10th annual TV Land Awards telecast airing on TV Land on Sunday, April 29th at 9 p.m. (Casts of “One Day At A Time” and “Laverne and Shirley” will also be honored.) We decided to see what some of the folks on “In Living Color” have been up to since.

KEENAN IVORY WAYANS, DAMON WAYANS, SHAWN WAYANS AND KIM WAYANS

Keenan Ivory Wayans came from a family of 10 kids and he wanted to make sure he included his siblings in his success. So he hired his brothers Damon and Shawn and sister Kim to join him on “In Living Color” and fortunately, they were funny. Keenan, of course, has been an actor, writer and producer in Hollywood and is the most successful of the entire clan.

Damon had his own sitcom, “My Wife And Kids,” with Tisha Campbell and has helped create the next generation of Wayans family talent with his children, Damon, Jr., Cara Mia, Michael and Kyla all billed as actors, writers and producers.

Kim has been less visible than her brothers but recently starred in the critically acclaimed indie, “Pariah.”

Shawn, who was the show’s DJ, S1W, found greater success after doing TV and stand-up with his brother, Marlon. Their biggest hits – “White Chicks,” “Dance Flick” and “Don’t Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood,” have kept the Wayans family franchise going strong.

Marlon is executive producing the new BET series “Second Generation Wayans,” which stars Craig and Damien Dante Wayans.

TOMMY DAVIDSON

Tommy Davidson has continued his career as a comedian both onstage an in films. He co-starred with Vivica A. Fox and Jamie Foxx in the comedy “Booty Call” and has appeared in movies like “Black Dynamite.” Those who were fans of the animated series “The Proud Family” will remember him as Penny’s dad, Oscar Proud, from 2001-2005. Davidson is still an in-demand standup performer who tours around the country.

JIM CARREY

Those of you who know Jim Carrey the movie star, arguably the most successful of the “In Living Color” cast, might not remember that he got his start on the show. He played many of the show’s more memorable characters, including Fire Marshal Bill, an overzealous fireman who was often combusting himself. The zaniness of this character would come out in other characters, including his roles in hits like “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” and “The Mask.” He’ll shoot “Dumb and Dumber 2” later this year.

JENNIFER LOPEZ

Yes, Jennifer Lopez got her start on “In Living Color” as well as one of the famed “Fly Girls” that danced in the show’s opening and closing segments. From there, Lopez shot the Janet Jackson video “That’s the Way Love Goes” and went on to become a movie star after winning the role in the biopic “Selena.” Now an “American Idol” judge and recording star, she’s in the new movie “What To Expect When You’re Expecting,” in theaters May 18.

CARRIE ANN INABA

You know her best now as a tough judge on “Dancing With the Stars” but once upon a time, Carrie Ann Inaba and Jennifer Lopez shared a rehearsal studio as “Fly Girls.” Yup, these two ambitious dancers were part of the hip-hop dance troupe, choreographed by Rosie Perez, who made up the Fly Girls crew. Since then, Inaba has been an actress, choreographer and owned a television production company. She’s appeared in “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and other films, usually in some kind of dance role. She’s been on “Dancing With the Stars” all 14 seasons.

THE REST

Kim Coles: Although she was only on the show for one season, she made the best of it, carving out a career of TV and film appearances that include “One on One,” “Six Feet Under,” “Celebrity Fit Club” and more.

Laurieanne Gibson – Yup, she was also a Fly Girl. She’s done reality TV with Diddy and on her own show, and was Lady Gaga’s lead choreographer before the two split over creative differences.

David Alan Grier – He played on “Martin,” appeared with Kerry Washington on Broadway in David Mamet’s “Race,” and had his own short-lived comedy show “Chocolate News.”

Kelly Coffield and Steve Park – They ended up getting married. Coffield-Park has been in a few Wayans movies and her husband has done a variety of comic films and standup.

Rosie Perez: The original “Fly Girls” choreographer starred in several movies including “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Pineapple Express” and “Do The Right Thing.” She remains and actress and activist and is still recovering from a serious neck injury she received on the set of “Law and Order: SVU.”

T’Keyah Crystal Keymah: After “In Living Color,’” she was best known for her work on “Cosby” and as Raven’s mom on the popular Disney show “That’s So Raven.”

Alexandra Wentworth – The comedian and wife of TV news host George Stephanopoulos was on “In Living Color” for two seasons. Well known to “Oprah” show fans as the kooky correspondent, Wentworth remains a comic actress.
