In the latest instance of disrespecting the president, Sen. Chuck Grassley insulted President Obama via Twitter on Saturday, suggesting the president is “stupid” in a tweet about his comments last week on the Supreme Court.
Grassley, a Republican from Iowa and the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, tweeted that constituents wanted to know why he was not outraged by the president’s “attack” on the court. He responded because the American people “r not stupid as this x prof of con law.”
Obama was a professor of constitutional law. But comments he made caused a stir when he said on Monday that he is confident the Supreme Court will not overturn his signature health care law. He also suggested that doing so would amount to judicial activism.
David Axelrod, a top Obama adviser, told Grassley via Twitter that it looks like a child had hacked his account.
“I think a 6-year-old hijacked your account and is sending out foolish tweets just to embarrass you!” he wrote.
