Christmas is on the way and Madea’s here to celebrate it. Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas comes out this Friday. This time, Madea mixes things up some, bringing her mother wit to a Black and a white family in a little rural town. Tika Sumpter is Madea’s niece, Lacy, and Anna Maria Horsford plays Lacey’s “Mama Joyce” style mother. Larry The Cable Guy and Kathy Najimy make their first appearances in a Perry film.

“We have the same bustline,” says Horsford of her “Aunt” Madea. “Both are breasts are just as big. When I saw it, I said ‘Oh Lawd, I see why I got the part.’”

Tom Joyner has weighed in, deeming A Madea Christmas as his favorite Christmas movie of all time. He says that Larry the Cable Guy steals the movie.

“A lot of that was off the top of his head,” Horsford told The Tom Joyner Morning Show. “But we don’t always see how other races see Madea. The first question is always ‘Do you know Oprah?’ No, we’re not a black club.”

Horsford, who stars along with TV favorite Lisa Whelchel of the 80’s sitcom The Facts of Life and Chad Michael Murray of One Tree Hill says she and her fellow former TV stars are thankful to Perry for the work.

“It’s like Madeacare. She’s like Obama. She’s giving everybody a little bit. She’s giving everybody a job!”
