The 12th annual BET Awards take place this weekend. Are you ready? Here’s our guide to watching the Awards, which air live from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live this Sunday, June 30th at 8 p.m. EST. Chris Tucker hosts the annual showcase of Black music, which began in Las Vegas on June 19th, 2001. OutKast was the very first recipient of a BET Award. This year, The BET Experience offers the general public more opportunities to participate with award show tickets, a slew of special events including concerts starring Beyonce, Erykah Badu, New Edition and the Jacksons, comedy, a film festival and more. Coverage starts with red carpet and pre-show at 6 p.m.

Performers include: Chris Brown, Snoop Lion, Miguel, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Janelle Monae, Robin Thicke, T.I. Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu. See the complete list here.
