Chicago‘s morticians and funeral home directors held a faux funeral procession through the streets of Chicago this past weekend to protest gun violence.
According to CBS Chicago, Gloria Driver, one of the event’s organizers, she said sometimes you have to go beyond the church to seek change, saying, “sometimes we have to step out of sanctuary or the chapel because it affects us like that.”
In 2012 there were 506 homicides. So far in 2013, there have been over 45 counts of homicide.

Really sad statistics, but I don’t see an end to it any time soon. The bad influences are too powerful. And the most important reason is because many of the people that in a position to make a difference have lost hope and no longer care.
