The Brits have been through this before.
In 2011, Prince was rumored to headline the UK’s biggest music event, the Glastonbury Festival. But it was Beyonce who ultimately took the main stage.
Now the Daily Star claims seven-time Grammy winner Prince will grace the concert’s Pyramid stage.
The paper reports he’s booked three gigs at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July after Glastonbury at the end of June.
Prince isn’t the only legendary act in the Glastonbury rumor mill. The Sunday Mirror previously reported that The Rolling Stones would headline, marking their 50th anniversary with a grand last hurrah. But both the band and Glastonbury’s press office denied that they were in talks.
Other acts linked to the huge festival – which returns to Worthy Farm on the weekend June 28-30 after a year’s hiatus – are Rihanna and the Arctic Monkeys.
This year’s Glastonbury is to be live streamed by the BBC for the first time with viewers able to watch different stages as they happen.
